Job summary

DSS Building Group in Bridgeton, MO is seeking an early-career Project Manager to run commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout with mentorship from senior staff. You’ll own scheduling, budgets, and subcontractor coordination while engaging ownership and clients to ensure project success.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years PM experience with a GC or 2–4 years as a Project Engineer/APM ready to lead. Procore and Bluebeam experience is a plus; travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple commercial projects from buyout through construction and closeout
• Build and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost reports
• Prepare and administer subcontracts and purchase orders, and help with scope reviews and bid leveling during buyout
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications in Procore
• Review drawings and specifications, and mark up plans in Bluebeam
• Run owner, architect, and subcontractor meetings, and keep meeting minutes and project records
• Coordinate with superintendents to keep work moving safely and efficiently in the field
• Work with accounting on insurance compliance, lien waivers, and closeout documentation
• Develop client relationships that lead to repeat work
• Support estimating and preconstruction efforts when needed

The Role

We're looking for a Project Manager who is early in their PM career, or a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager who is ready to step up. You'll run your own commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout, with direct support and mentorship from ownership and senior team members. Our projects are fast-paced and well-defined, so you'll get full PM experience quickly: you'll own the schedule, the budget, and the subcontractors. Senior team members will work directly with you to own and maintain the client relationship. We'll give you the tools and backing to do it well.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• 1-2 years of project management experience with a commercial general contractor, or 2-4 years as a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager and ready to run your own projects
• Hands-on experience with submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications
• Exposure to ground-up and/or tenant improvement commercial projects
• Working knowledge of construction schedules, budgets, and subcontract scopes
• Ability to read construction drawings and specs
• Experience with Procore and Bluebeam preferred
• Clear, proactive communication with clients, design teams, and trades
• Organized and self-motivated, with a willingness to ask questions and learn fast
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
