Job description

Project Manager – Mechanical Construction
Location: Onsite in Boise, ID
Schedule: Full-time, onsite
Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401K with match, PTO and holidays, life/disability insurances
The Opportunity:

An established and growing mechanical construction organization is expanding its team in the Boise market and is seeking experienced Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to lead large-scale, technically complex construction projects.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who wants more than simply stepping into an existing project management seat. You’ll have an opportunity to join a growing local operation, help shape how projects are executed in the market, and take ownership of significant commercial and industrial work while having the resources and stability of a well-established organization behind you.

The ideal candidate comes from a mechanical contractor, HVAC, plumbing, or MEP construction environment and has managed projects with direct responsibility for financial performance, scheduling, client relationships, and overall project execution.

What You’ll Do:
  • Manage complex mechanical construction projects from planning and preconstruction through execution and closeout.
  • Take ownership of project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, profitability, and financial performance.
  • Develop, price, negotiate, and manage change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate project activities across field teams, engineering, estimating, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Lead and mentor Project Engineers and other project team members.
  • Manage project schedules, materials, equipment, labor requirements, and overall project resources.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and serve as a primary point of contact throughout the project.
  • Participate in project meetings and resolve technical, operational, and financial issues as they arise.
  • Review submittals, drawings, project documentation, and construction requirements.
  • Monitor labor hours, material costs, commitments, and project forecasts to identify risks early.
  • Look for value-engineering opportunities while maintaining quality, schedule, and client expectations.
  • Support project pursuits and long-term client relationships as the local operation continues to grow.
What We’re Looking For:
  • 5+ years of project management experience within mechanical construction, HVAC, plumbing, MEP, or a closely related commercial construction environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large and/or technically complex construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building systems and the construction process.
  • Hands-on experience owning project financials, including budgeting, forecasting, cost controls, project profitability and change-order management
  • Ability to manage client relationships and communicate effectively with multiple project stakeholders.
  • Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior project staff.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced project environment.
Preferred Background:
  • Project management background working in mechanical or HVAC contracting, plumbing and piping, MEP construction, advanced manufacturing, mission-critical facilities, large industrial projects, healthcare or higher education construction, other technically complex commercial facilities
  • Project Managers coming from a general contractor may also be considered if they have substantial experience managing mechanical/MEP scopes and working closely with specialty subcontractors.
  • Additional experience with estimating, union construction environments, or highly technical manufacturing facilities is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • PMP or PE credentials are also a plus.
Why Consider This Opportunity?

This role offers the combination of established-company resources and a growth-stage local environment. Rather than joining a mature office where processes and leadership opportunities are already firmly established, you'll have an opportunity to help build the Boise operation and make a visible impact as the local team grows.

You’ll also have the opportunity to:
  • Manage large, sophisticated construction projects.
  • Take true ownership of projects rather than managing only one portion of the process.
  • Lead and develop Project Engineers.
  • Build long‑term relationships with major clients.
  • Help establish processes and best practices for a growing local team.
  • Position yourself for additional responsibility as the Boise operation expands.

Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits, and 401K plan. Our program provides employees the flexibility to choose the type of coverage that meets their individual needs. Available paid leave may include Paid Sick Leave, where required by law; any other paid leave required by Federal, State, or local law; and Holiday pay upon meeting eligibility criteria.
