Job summary

CyberCoders, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager in Phoenix to lead commercial HVAC and plumbing projects from planning through closeout.

You will oversee scheduling, budgeting, procurement, billing, change management, and field coordination while collaborating with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver quality results. The role requires 3+ years of PM experience in commercial mechanical construction, familiarity with ASHRAE/ASPE standards, and a hands-on

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of PM experience in commercial mechanical construction (HVAC/plumbing).
  • Experience managing projects from $200K to $20M+.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping systems.
  • Familiarity with HVAC ASHRAE, Plumbing ASPE, and building codes.
  • Field experience in plumbing/pipefitting/sheet metal trades is preferred.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, budgeting, and organizational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and related apps.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple commercial HVAC and plumbing projects concurrently.
  • Track submittals, RFIs, schedules of values, project schedules, progress billings, and change orders.
  • Develop scopes of work and manage purchase orders for subs, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Coordinate project activities including scheduling, engineering support, material procurement, and field operations.
  • Ensure projects meet design requirements, budgets, schedules, quality standards, and client expectations.
  • Work closely with Superintendents and field leadership to ensure staffing and execution.
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts, profitability, and overall financial performance.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly project projections and reporting.
  • Manage monthly billing processes and client approvals.
  • Identify and proactively resolve project risks impacting schedule, budget, quality, or commitments.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities with existing clients and cultivating new relationships.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation throughout the lifecycle.

Mechanical Project Manager

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Compensation: $95,000 - $120,000+ (Depends on Experience)

About the Opportunity

A leading mechanical contracting organization is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background in commercial HVAC and plumbing systems to oversee projects from planning through successful completion.

This role is responsible for the operational and financial performance of assigned projects, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, billing, change management, field coordination, customer relationships, and project closeout. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience managing commercial mechanical construction projects while collaborating closely with field teams, customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage one or multiple commercial HVAC and plumbing projects simultaneously.
  • Track and manage submittals, RFIs, schedules of values, project schedules, progress billings, and change orders.
  • Develop scopes of work and manage purchase orders for subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of project management experience within the commercial mechanical construction industry, specifically HVAC and/or plumbing.
  • Proven experience managing mechanical construction projects ranging from approximately $200K to $20M+.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of HVAC/ASHRAE standards, Plumbing/ASPE standards, and applicable building codes.
  • Prior hands‑on field experience as a Plumbing, Pipefitting, or Sheet Metal Apprentice, Journeyman, and/or Foreman is highly preferred.
  • Strong project planning, scheduling, budgeting, financial management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related business applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations simultaneously.
