The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) within a scientific environment. Responsibilities include defining technical and functional requirements, quality control planning, implementation, upgrades, and integration with existing NCBI systems using Agile methodology. The role involves daily coordination of complex technical projects related to scientific and genomic data, providing technical and administrative expertise, tracking milestones, producing deliverables, managing risks, schedules, and resources, coordinating cross-functional teams, advising senior management on technical issues, and communicating project status to stakeholders.
NCBI is part of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). It is a leading biomedical research center serving over six million users daily, providing access to research, clinical, genetic, and other biomedical information. NCBI develops and maintains platforms such as PubMed, which indexes over 29 million biomedical research articles. Our applications span various environments, including big data, machine learning, and multiple cloud platforms.
This is a full-time, primarily remote position with potential on-site work in Bethesda, Maryland.
The compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $160,000 annually, based on experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan with matching, paid leave, holidays, and a standard 40-hour work week supporting work–life balance.
