GEICO is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager passionate about managing complex Finance Technology programs across various departments. You will lead engineering teams to deliver enterprise-wide products and support our transformation from traditional IT to a tech-driven organization emphasizing engineering excellence, psychological safety, and continuous improvement.
This role is a key member of the Financial Technology team, responsible for planning, prioritizing, and leading implementations within the Finance Technology domain. You will collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to ensure timely project delivery. The ideal candidate will have deep project management expertise, working knowledge of Workday Financials, and a background in Financial Services, Accounting, or Corporate Finance. Experience in Insurance Technology is a plus.
Position Responsibilities
- Partner with sponsors, delivery teams, and stakeholders to deliver quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Create and manage detailed project schedules, change control processes, and documentation.
- Work with leadership to address dependencies, negotiate delivery milestones, and ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Identify, raise, and resolve project risks with detailed solutions.
- Understand how requirements and design choices impact systems across multiple areas.
- Report on project progress and key metrics, providing ideas for process and delivery improvements.
- Leverage operational and LEAN principles to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
- Coordinate activities across systems, departments, and teams, utilizing your finance systems knowledge to support GEICO’s needs.
- Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the software lifecycle.
- Utilize experience with ERP systems like Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion, Hyperion, or SAP to enhance or build applications supporting GEICO’s Finance organization.
- Apply your understanding of Finance, Accounting, and Management Reporting to drive solutions that meet business needs.
- Collaborate with product managers, teams, and stakeholders to solve complex problems.
- Report on project and program progress to leadership and stakeholders.
- Perform process engineering and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Share best practices and improve processes across teams.
- Analyze costs and forecasts, integrating them into business plans.
- Facilitate technical discussions and ensure timely resolution of design issues.
- Conduct research and analysis to meet requirements effectively.
Qualifications
- Proven program and project management skills with experience coordinating large-scale projects.
- Deep expertise in Finance domain to interpret requirements into system solutions.
- Working knowledge of Workday Financials.
- Understanding of accounting, management reporting, and cross-finance practices.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience or certification in LEAN principles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work with business leaders across Technology and Finance.
- Experience with continuous delivery and Agile methodologies.
- Strong quantitative problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Leadership qualities with influence without authority.
- Experience managing conflicts and stakeholder expectations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft ADO and SharePoint is highly recommended.
Experience
- 12+ years managing large-scale Finance Technology programs.
- 10+ years in Product or Project Management.
- 8+ years working with ERP solutions like Workday, PeopleSoft, Oracle Fusion, Hyperion, or SAP.
- Understanding of Agile - Scrum/Kanban methodologies.
- PMP or Scrum certification preferred.
Education
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
Salary Range
$130,000 - $260,000 annually. Final compensation depends on experience, education, location, and market factors. Currently, GEICO does not sponsor employment authorization for this role.
