Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee day-to-day execution, project controls, and leadership for a major water treatment project. This onsite role requires coordinating the project team, trade partners, and stakeholders through construction, plant start-up, and turnover.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction PM, water/wastewater experience preferred, and strong financial, negotiation, and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a construction project management role.
  • Experience with water and/or wastewater treatment projects.
  • Four-year degree in construction or related field or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated financial management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
  • Experience with budgeting, scheduling tools, and cost reporting.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required; LEED/Lean/CPR are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage project planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Manage project financials, cost reports, and revenue projections.
  • Oversee field staff and operations for the project.
  • Lead buyout, subcontracts, and procurement activities.
  • Monitor construction progress and resolve issues with the superintendent.
  • Develop relationships with owners, engineers, and trade partners.
  • Lead project meetings and provide status reporting.
  • Coordinate with BIM, Scheduling, MEP, and Estimating teams.
  • Establish safety goals and ensure compliance on site.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of project delivery processes.

Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the day-to-day execution, project controls, project engineering, cost, risk, and business management of a major water treatment project.

This is an onsite Project Manager position. While you will work closely with field operations, your primary responsibility will be project management and leadership. You will lead and coordinate the project team, trade partners, and other stakeholders throughout construction, plant start-up, and turnover.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage project planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Manage project financials, including Owner Pay Applications, cost reports, production reports, and cost and revenue projections.
  • Oversee field staff and the operations team assigned to the project.
  • Lead project buyout and procurement, including scope review and negotiation, subcontracts, purchase orders, submittals, deliveries, and subcontractor/vendor management.
  • Monitor construction progress and work collaboratively with the Superintendent to resolve operational issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, trade partners, and other project stakeholders.
  • Lead project meetings and provide clear reporting and documentation regarding project status and potential issues.
  • Coordinate with internal departments including BIM, Scheduling, MEP, and Estimating.
  • Establish and implement project-specific safety goals and ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and help strengthen project delivery processes.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have strong construction project management experience, with water and/or wastewater treatment experience at the Project Manager level strongly preferred.

Qualifications include:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar construction project management role or related function.
  • Experience with water and/or wastewater treatment projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction practices, methods, and procedures.
  • Four-year degree in construction or a related field, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Demonstrated financial management and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and listening skills, including the ability to resolve conflict diplomatically.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.Proven leadership skills and the ability to build team morale.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software such as Procore or similar.
  • Experience with accounting/cost management and scheduling software such as Primavera or similar.
  • OSHA 30 certification is required.
  • LEED certification, Lean certification, and CPR/First Aid training are a plus.
