PATH's Malaria and Neglected Tropical Diseases (MNTD) program is a leader in the effort to end malaria illnesses and deaths, refines and develops tools and approaches, invests in national programs, and builds data to empower national governments to pursue malaria elimination.

PATH seeks Project Management Consultants to support the coordination for rapid mobilization for infectious disease activities, including malaria, for a USG-funded project in various countries, with a focus in Africa.

Key responsibilities for the consultant include:

  • Introduce new project in specified countries by meeting or communicating with key stakeholders such as ministry of health (MOH) counterparts, donor representatives, and/or other local and international partners implementing malaria programming in a specified set of countries.

  • Coordinate development and input into workplans and budgets for a specified set of countries. This may include:

    • Hold meetings with key stakeholders to gather inputs and identify priority interventions

    • Draft proposed org charts for project staff to carry out project objectives

    • Develop first draft of activity matrix and workplan

  • Partner with in-country team members and consultants to keep detailed operational planning documents up to date.

  • Work with PATH's contracts team to ensure compliance across all activities.

  • Participate in frequent meetings to get or give updates on the status of all project-related activities in a specified set of countries.

  • Identify, mitigate, and elevate potential risks during start-up phase.

  • Coordinate calls with USAID/USG and key partners, circulate action items, and follow up on completion.

  • Support recruitment of country staff including screening CVs and scheduling interviews

  • Schedule meetings, take notes, and ensure excellent knowledge management across all activities.

Travel

Travel will be determined on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

We are seeking consultants that have the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience (5+ years) with project management of USG-funded health projects; experience with USG contracts is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated experience developing workplans and budgets for USG-funded health projects; experience with M&E plans, risk matrices and other project management tools is desirable.

  • Familiarity with malaria interventions and/or infectious disease surveillance is desirable.

  • Ability to work independently, with attention to detail and strong communication skills.

  • Fluency in English; proficiency in French is desirable.
