Job summary

RK Roofing & Construction Inc. is seeking a Project Management Associate to support high-value commercial roofing projects and broader company administration under the Office Manager.

You will learn to identify key project details, prepare concise reports, and present data to management. Responsibilities include maintaining bidding spreadsheets, templates, and cost data, tracking pay applications, budgets, warranties and insurance, and collaborating with accounting to record job costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably with a strong writing and analytical background.
• 3+ years of professional experience in the construction industry.
• Proven proficiency in using spreadsheet tools like MS Excel.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and analyze information for management.
• Ability to write coherent, compelling narrative without AI.
• Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Be curious, eager to learn, and capable of taking on more responsibility.

Project Management Associate – Commercial Roofing

The Opportunity

Provide project management support for a multitude of high-value construction projects in addition to supporting all aspects of company administration under the tutelage of the Office Manager.

On the front-end, you will need to identify and evaluate key project details, prepare and present supporting project paperwork to management for decision-making. Learn to discern what constitute key project details, understand why they are important, and anticipate information needs of management in order to present data in a clear, concise manner.

Maintain and update company bidding spreadsheets, proposal and change order templates and cost data to ensure ongoing accurate bidding inputs.

Once project contracts have been awarded, learn and perfect commercial roofing project management skills which include preparing and maintaining accurate and complete project records including monthly pay applications. This includes contract, warranty, budget and insurance management. As your skills develop, you will be expected to assume more responsibility to propose solutions to contract, budget and client challenges and then execute those recommendations. Key to this position is understanding the financial aspects of each project and being able to direct accounting staff to record job costs accordingly.

This position includes supporting all aspects of company administration which is intimately tied to project management. In addition to understanding and supporting the individual projects, we are looking for a candidate that is interested in understanding the infrastructure of the company and supporting the Office Manager and General Manager as they seek to expand the company into other regions. This means respecting confidentiality of all aspects of the work. Exhibiting discernment and discretion are key characteristics required for this position.
