Job summary

Colorado School of Mines seeks staff to design, deploy, and improve the METAL Mobile Manufacturing unit. Responsibilities include equipment configuration, delivering Level 1 bootcamps across 11 Western states, and managing safety and compliance.

The role emphasizes project management, data reporting, and continuous improvement, with a goal to operationalize by December 31, 2026 and support funding through 2028.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: BS in Metallurgical Engineering; knowledge of metal forming and alloys; skills in metallography and mechanical testing.
  • Preferred: MS in Metallurgical Engineering or related field; OSHA familiarity; CDL or willingness to obtain; experience with safety programs and project reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Design: identify and procure MMM equipment and prepare Final Mobile Unit Design Package.
  • Deploy: deliver METAL Level 1 Bootcamps across the Western USA; operate equipment safely; meet KPIs.
  • Safety/Regulatory: implement safety systems; comply with OSHA and codes; document inspections.
  • Reporting/Data: submit monthly and quarterly reports; track KPIs; maintain equipment inventory.
