Job summary

Colorado School of Mines seeks a metallurgical engineering professional to design, deploy, and operate the Mobile Metal Manufacturing Training (METAL) program across the Western USA. You will develop safety documentation, manage vehicle deployments, and deliver Level 1 bootcamps while meeting KPIs.

Responsibilities include equipment procurement, safety compliance, project reporting, and coordinating with IACMI and partner sites. Strong engineering background and CDL may be beneficial.

Qualifications

• BS degree in metallurgical engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of metal forming and alloy metallurgy is essential.
• Experience with metallography and mechanical testing is required.
• Ability to plan, organize, and report on project milestones.
• Willingness to learn METAL Level 1 Bootcamp material.

Responsibilities

• Design and procure equipment for the Mobile Metal Training Unit.
• Configure equipment and ensure safety and compliance documentation.
• Deliver METAL Level 1 bootcamps across the Western USA.
• Drive a 1-ton pickup truck towing a diesel generator.
• Develop operations, safety, and deployment plans for events.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reports and manage project tasks.
