Job summary

Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. in New York seeks a Credit Officer for the Project Finance group. You will review credit applications, prepare executive summaries, monitor portfolio performance, and develop financial models to assess risk and return.

You will present recommendations to senior management, engage with banks, rating agencies and clients, and contribute to ongoing credit analysis in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment. Strong quantitative background and MBA/CFA encouraged.

Qualifications

• Proven credit analysis skills in project/structured finance.
• Ability to assess credit trends, structures and default risk.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present to senior management.
• Proficiency with Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Excel, Word and PowerPoint; formal credit training and financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Review credit applications submitted by front office and prepare executive summaries.
• Monitor portfolio performance and ensure accurate credit ratings.
• Create financial models and comment on management and sensitivity assumptions.
• Present credit recommendations to senior management.
• Engage with syndicate banks, rating agencies, clients and law firms as needed.
• Coordinate with other Credit Departments and senior management on issues.
