Job summary

Mizuho in New York seeks a project finance professional to structure, originate and execute transactions across natural resources and power/infrastructure sectors. You will develop relationships with developers active in these spaces and market for new mandates, coordinating with internal partners across Capital Markets.

The role requires 1–3 years in project finance, a strong quantitative background and solid financial modeling skills.

Qualifications

• BS, MS or LLM degree with a strong quantitative background, or other relevant work experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in Project Finance.
• 1 year of credit experience.
• Foundation in financial modeling.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Establish a foundation in natural resources, renewables, energy transition and power markets.
• Prepare marketing materials and proposals, and pursue mandates.
• Deal origination, attend bank meetings and pitch for mandates.
• Review and negotiate legal documentation with clients; structure transactions.
• Research, cash flow modeling and credit-risk analysis for deals.
• Cross-sell other Mizuho financial services including derivatives and debt/equity products.
