Job summary

Barnhart Crane & Rigging is seeking a Branch Engineer to support sales, design, and project engineering with emphasis on project engineering. The role involves creating crane layouts, rigging drawings, and heavy lift solutions using AutoCAD, Inventor, Mathcad, and RISA, while providing on-site field support and risk assessments.

You will coordinate with Sales, Project Managers, and Superintendents, develop equipment lists, and design tools per industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program (4-year).
• Minimum GPA 3.0. Fees/externals not specified.

Responsibilities

• Develop crane layouts and rigging drawings for lift plans using Barnhart's tools.
• Create layout drawings for heavy machinery moving projects utilizing gantries, slide systems, and modular trailers.
• Prepare drawings for heavy transportation projects using modular trailers for over-the-road hauling and on-site work.
• Use AutoCAD, Inventor, Mathcad, RISA, and Barnhart spreadsheets for heavy lift and transport solutions.
• Assist Sales with field walk-downs to develop equipment lists and bids.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers and Superintendents on jobsites as plans change.
