Job summary

Barnhart is seeking a Branch Engineer in Knoxville, TN to support sales, design, and projects, with emphasis on project engineering. You will develop crane layouts, rigging drawings, and layout plans for heavy lift projects using Barnhart tools and CAD software, and provide field support.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (ABET), strong problem-solving, and proficiency with CAD (AutoCAD/Inventor) and engineering calculations.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop crane layouts and rigging drawings for lift plans.
• Create layout drawings for heavy machinery moving projects.
• Prepare drawings for heavy transportation using modular trailers.
• Use AutoCAD, Inventor, Mathcad, RISA, and Barnhart spreadsheets for solutions.
• Assist sales with field assessments and equipment lists for bids.
• Provide on-site technical support to project managers and superintendents.
• Design custom lifting or support tools per project needs per engineering standards.
• Act as field liaison for complex projects, assessing risk and safety.
