Job summary

Barnhart Crane Rigging is seeking a Branch Engineer to support sales, design, and project activities with a primary focus on project engineering. You will develop crane layouts and rigging drawings to enable safe, efficient lifts and successful project outcomes.

You will utilize AutoCAD, Inventor, Mathcad, RISA and Barnhart tools to craft solutions, perform field walk-downs for bids, and provide on-site technical support to field teams as needed.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited 4-year degree required.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 required.
• Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop crane layouts and rigging drawings for lift plans using Barnhart tools.
• Create drawings for heavy machinery moving projects using gantries, slide systems, modular trailers, lift & hoist towers.
• Create drawings for heavy transportation projects using modular trailers for over-the-road hauling and on-site moves.
• Use AutoCAD, Inventor, Mathcad, RISA, and Barnhart spreadsheets to solve heavy lift/transport projects.
• Assist Sales with field walk-downs to develop equipment lists and bid sketches.
• Provide on-site or office-based technical support to Project Managers and Superintendents as issues arise.
• Design custom lifting or support tools using AISC, ASME, and other standards.
• Serve as field technical liaison for complex projects and risk/quality evaluations.
