Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a seasoned Project Manager to lead large-scale HVAC and plumbing installations in healthcare facilities. You will oversee budgets, schedules, and field teams, ensuring compliance with codes and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have extensive PM experience with mechanical subcontractors on major commercial projects and strong communication across stakeholders in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline OR 10+ years of Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the project
• Manage project costs, field labor, and subcontractors
• Ensure safe, on-time completion under budget
• Manage installation of HVAC, Plumbing, and Medical Gas to code, budget, and schedule
• Work safely in occupied hospitals and other healthcare facilities, including infection control
• Evaluate estimates and establish job costing systems with labor, material, and subcontract cost codes
• Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders
• Evaluate submittals against contract drawings and specifications
• Conduct monthly reports and cost reviews to identify deviations from plans or schedules
• Keep participants and stakeholders informed to deliver projects on time and under budget
• Build and maintain customer relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal customers
• Evaluate and develop field personnel, including workers, foremen, and superintendents
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment through safety meetings, incident investigations, and employee involvement

Requirements

• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline OR 10+ years of Project Management experience working for a mechanical subcontractor in commercial HVAC and Plumbing
• Extensive experience in large ($5+M) heavy commercial construction
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
• Well-versed in the industry and the Company's competitors
• Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary
• Willingness/ability to work at the specified job site(s)/office location
• Ability to climb stairs
• Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Ability to repeat motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Ability to move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another
• Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
