Job summary

Our client, a nationally recognised ENR Top 20 contractor in the United States, seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead major projects from preconstruction through completion. You will oversee safety, schedule, budgeting and quality, mentor project teams, and build strong client and subcontractor relationships in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Ten-plus years in construction management and a relevant degree are required; proficiency with MS Office and construction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of construction management experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and industry experience will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for project safety performance.
  • Lead project execution to ensure contractual obligations, quality standards and schedule requirements are achieved.
  • Oversee project financial forecasting, billings, notices and risk management processes.
  • Develop and maintain project-specific quality management and closeout plans.
  • Lead, motivate and mentor project teams while fostering a positive and collaborative culture.
  • Manage project administration staff, superintendents, engineers and support personnel.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement subcontracting and procurement strategies.
  • Negotiate contracts, agreements and purchase orders while managing project risk.
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, bonding and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee preconstruction activities and ensure alignment between project objectives and client expectations.
  • Drive schedule performance through effective planning, communication and resource management.
  • Support business development efforts through client engagement, market networking and relationship building.
  • Contribute to new business opportunities and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Coach, mentor and support the career development of team members.
  • Promote an inclusive, high-performing workplace culture.
  • Align project and team objectives with broader organisational goals.
