Summary:
Michilli is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Executive to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple construction projects and project management teams.
The Project Executive will oversee a portfolio of approximately 3-6 projects and serve as a mentor and leader to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Site Superintendents. This individual will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and consistent with Michilli's quality standards.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building client relationships, coaching project teams, managing risk, driving financial performance, and resolving complex project challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide executive oversight of multiple concurrent construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Monitor project performance, including schedule, budget, procurement, cash flow, quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
- Ensure project teams proactively identify and mitigate risks that may impact cost, schedule, or project execution.
- Lead problem-solving efforts for complex project challenges and escalations.
- Partner with the Director of Construction on project staffing, resource allocation, and operational planning.
- Participate in project interviews, proposal reviews, and business development initiatives.
- Mentor, coach, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Site Superintendents.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and professional growth across project teams.
- Assist in onboarding, training, and performance development initiatives.
- Promote a culture of ownership, communication, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as a senior-level representative for Michilli with clients, architects, consultants, landlords, and ownership groups.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships that promote repeat business opportunities.
- Support project teams in managing expectations, resolving issues, and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Participate in executive-level project meetings and strategic discussions.
- Review project budgets, forecasts, change order exposure, and financial performance.
- Ensure projects maintain financial accountability and achieve established margin goals.
- Collaborate with Estimating, Preconstruction, Accounting, and Operations teams to support successful project execution.
Qualifications:
Required
- Minimum 15 years of construction industry experience.
- Minimum 10 years of General Contractor experience.
- Prior experience managing multiple project teams.
- Proven leadership experience overseeing complex commercial, luxury retail, and/or high-end residential construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, and project controls.
- Experience managing projects through all phases, including preconstruction, construction, and closeout.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and project scheduling software.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Experience in luxury retail construction.
- Experience in high-end residential construction.
- Experience managing projects across multiple geographic markets.
- Existing relationships within the New York construction industry.
