Job summary

Flowtec Construction in Detroit seeks an experienced Project Executive to lead major commercial projects and drive overall project success.

You will serve as the primary executive liaison for clients, oversee budgets, schedules, and safety performance, and mentor operations staff to strengthen the leadership team.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction with a reputable general contractor.
  • Proven track record leading large, complex projects and multiple project teams.
  • Experience in a senior leadership role such as Senior Project Manager or Project Executive.
  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight for multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams to achieve outstanding outcomes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards.
  • Oversee project financial performance including budgets, forecasting, profitability, cash flow, and risk.
  • Support preconstruction efforts, estimating reviews, procurement strategies, and planning.

The Opportunity

As a Project Executive, you will provide strategic leadership across multiple projects and project teams, ensuring successful delivery from preconstruction through closeout. You will serve as the primary executive liaison for clients, oversee project financial performance, mentor operations staff, and drive excellence in safety, quality, and client satisfaction.

This is a highly visible leadership role offering the opportunity to influence some of Metro Detroit's largest and most complex commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide executive oversight for multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and project teams to achieve outstanding project outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee project financial performance, including budgets, forecasting, profitability, cash flow, and risk management.
  • Support preconstruction efforts, estimating reviews, procurement strategies, and project planning.
  • Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to mitigate schedule, cost, and operational impacts.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on staffing, operational planning, and resource allocation.
  • Drive continuous improvement across project delivery, technology adoption, and operational processes.
  • Champion the company's culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and client service.
  • Mentor emerging leaders and support succession planning across project operations.
  • Participate in business development activities, client presentations, and strategic pursuits to help grow the company's market presence.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction with a reputable general contractor.
  • Proven success leading large, complex commercial projects and managing multiple project teams.
  • Experience in a senior leadership role such as Senior Project Manager, Project Executive, Operations Manager, or similar.
  • Strong financial acumen with expertise in project budgeting, forecasting, contract administration, and cost control.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Thorough understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, quality control, and safety practices.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other construction management platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Highly competitive base salary commensurate with experience.
