As a Design Integration Manager, you will lead and coordinate all preconstruction management activities. It is essential to be goal‑oriented, organized, and professional and to exceed client expectations. Critical for success is overseeing and integrating multidisciplinary design efforts, facilitating permitting strategies and assessing risk management. You will lead estimating teams through the development of preliminary estimates and GMP proposals by engaging partners, aligning scope, detailing assumptions, while integrating cost, schedule, phasing, and procurement considerations.

  • We are consistently ranked among the top 10% of Engineering News-Record’s Top 400 Contractors
  • Our steady, strategic growth revolves around a commitment to quality
  • We are family owned and operated
  • We invest an average of $5,000 per employee on training each year
  • We reward hard work and dedication with limitless opportunities
  • We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to promote safety, regardless of job titles.
  • Michels offers a comprehensive benefits program, including Health, Dental, Life, Flexible Spending Accounts, Health Savings Account, Short Term and Long Term Disability Insurance, 401(k) plan, Legal Plan, and Identity Theft and Monitoring Plan. Depending on your position and location you may participate in a different benefit plan.
Why you?
  • Project Management: Lead and coordinate all preconstruction management activities—budgeting, scheduling, change management, communication, meetings, and document control—while ensuring team alignment and use of collaboration tools.
  • Design Management: Oversee and integrate multidisciplinary design efforts, ensuring deliverables meet project requirements, are constructible, well-coordinated, properly documented, and supported by accurate field data.
  • Permitting Management: Facilitate permitting strategies and processes across federal, state, and local levels, including environmental investigations, agency coordination, property access agreements, compliance review, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage project risks by developing mitigation strategies, maintaining risk documentation, and supporting cost, schedule, and contingency decisions.
  • Cost and Estimating Management: Lead estimating teams through the development of preliminary estimates and GMP proposals by engaging partners, aligning scope, detailing assumptions, while integrating cost, schedule, phasing, and procurement considerations.
  • Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management: Ensure safety and environmental compliance while implementing a robust quality program with structured reviews to validate and improve design deliverables.
  • Constructability, Value Engineering, Construction Planning and Coordination: Develop construction strategies and evaluate design alternatives to optimize cost, schedule, safety, and quality, while facilitating constructability reviews and resolving design issues.
  • Business Development and Pursuit Coordination and Support: Support project pursuits by shaping teams, scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical strategies to align with client requirements and proposal commitments.
  • Construction and Close-out Coordination and Support: Provide continuity from preconstruction into construction by supporting change management, permitting, documentation, and final closeout activities including commissioning and turnover.
