Job summary

Service Construction of Illinois, Inc. is seeking an Estimator with extensive residential construction/remodeling experience to develop accurate bids. The role requires self-performed on-site work, coordination with architects/engineers, and strong communication with clients and crews.

Ability to interpret codes, read blueprints, and manage multi-job schedules is essential. Candidates should be able to generate clear scopes of work, draft contracts, review sworn statements, and handle post-job

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' experience in residential construction and remodeling.
• Experience with self-performed work on-site.
• Understanding of all trades.
• Knowledge of building codes and ability to find answers.
• Ability to secure architects or engineers for issues.
• Walk through a jobsite and write up a detailed bid.
• Effective communicator with clients and employees.
• Strong time management; manage multiple jobs.
• Problem-solving to fix field issues.
• Create and update construction schedules.
• Write contracts and review change orders.
• Review G701/702 and sworn statements.
• Proficient in reading blueprints and MS products.
• Present options to clients for best solution.
• Understand and execute permit processes.
• Available after hours for meetings and calls.

Ideal applicants must have a well-rounded background in residential construction/remodeling, as well as a basic background in commercial construction. Ideal applicants must also possess the following characteristics:

• Minimum 10 years' experience in residential construction and remodeling


• Applicants must have in-field experience with self-performed work


• Have an understanding of all trades


• Have an understanding of building codes and ability for find answers to building codes


• Ability to secure professional ie: architect or engineers to resolve issues


• Can walk through a jobsite and write up a detailed bid to submit to the potential client


• Effective communicator with clients and employees alike


• Possess excellent time management skills and can manage several jobs at one time


• Problem solves to fix issues that may come up in the field


• Create and update construction schedules


• Write contracts


• Assist in creating G701/702 and sworn statements
