Job summary

Entech Network Solutions, LLC. is partnering with a Chicagoland contractor to identify a Construction Estimator for private commercial paving, concrete and sitework projects.

You will review civil plans, perform quantity takeoffs, develop pricing and coordinate with operations to ensure estimates reflect project scope, site conditions and realistic field production. Responsibilities include reviewing bid documents, obtaining quotes, validating assumptions with field teams and highlighting risks

Job description

We are partnering with a commercial paving and site construction contractor in Chicagoland to identify a Construction Estimator with practical experience developing estimates and understanding how work gets built.

The role focuses on private commercial paving, concrete and sitework projects. You will review civil plans, perform quantity takeoffs, develop pricing and coordinate with operations to ensure estimates reflect project scope, site conditions and realistic field production.

What You’ll Do

• Review civil plans, specifications, bid documents and site conditions to understand project requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for paving, concrete and related sitework.
• Develop pricing for labor, materials, equipment and subcontracted work.
• Obtain and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes, checking coverage, exclusions and scope gaps.
• Work with field and operations teams to validate production assumptions and construction approach.
• Identify site constraints, constructability concerns and project risks before pricing is finalized.
• Support accurate proposals, value engineering and the transition from estimating to project execution.

What We’re Looking For

• Hands‑on construction estimating experience in commercial paving, concrete, sitework or a related civil construction environment.
• Ability to read civil plans and translate project requirements into quantities and costs.
• Understanding of labor, equipment, material pricing and field production.
• Experience evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and communication with field teams.
• Ability to explain estimates you personally prepared, including scope, pricing assumptions and potential risks.
• Availability to work locally in the Mokena and surrounding Chicagoland area.

Candidates may currently work as a Construction Estimator, Paving Estimator, Concrete Estimator, Sitework Estimator or Estimator/Project Manager. Project Engineers with substantial takeoff and estimating responsibility will also be considered.

A civil engineering or construction management background is helpful. Practical construction estimating experience is the primary consideration.
