Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Project Estimator - Heavy Civil in Eugene, OR. The role focuses on converting field experience (PE/Supt/PM) into detailed estimates for bridge, highway, and rail projects with a longstanding heavy civil team.

You will develop takeoffs with HeavyBid, analyze drawings, and evaluate bids while supporting prebid activities and client proposals. On-site work with a company that offers a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in the field as a Project Engineer, Superintendent, or Project Manager.
• Strong understanding of heavy civil means and methods; ability to read plans, specs and contracts.
• Organized, detail oriented; able to juggle multiple bid deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates using HCSS HeavyBid.
• Analyze drawings, specs, and contract documents; research historical costs and market trends.
• Solicit, compare, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids; flag scope gaps.
• Attend prebid meetings and site visits; help build competitive bid strategies.
• Support SOQ and RFP proposals while collaborating with PMs, engineers, and field staff.

Job Details

Requirements

• 5 or more years in the field as a Project Engineer, Superintendent, or Project Manager
• Strong understanding of heavy civil means and methods, plus the ability to read plans, specs, and contracts
• Organized, detail oriented, and able to juggle multiple bid deadlines
• Valid driver’s license, ability to access active job sites, and ability to obtain an eRailSafe Card
• HeavyBid, Primavera P6, and bridge or rail estimating experience a big plus
