SIMCO, LLC is seeking a Project Engineering Manager for the WIPP site in Carlsbad, NM. You will lead design engineering and configuration management, coordinating with the WIPP project team to ensure designs support cost, schedule, procurement, and operations requirements.
The role requires a BE in engineering with 5+ years of related experience and familiarity with ESR/PMI/DPMR/ETO processes. Relocation and strong leadership are a plus.
Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste. Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Project Engineering Manager and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
The successful candidate will provide daily leadership and management support to design engineering personnel and configuration management personnel. Work with the WIPP project management team to support the WIPP mission by providing resources to support engineering designs, design reviews, field engineering activities, and as-built activities. Serve as project leadership in areas of technical, design, documents and deliverables. Candidate will be responsible for setting strategy and monitoring process towards their team’s goals; communicating goals so all team members understand them and their role in achieving them; assigning and delegating responsibilities; and perform team meetings in order to provide safety information, concerns, and company wide information. Serve as the bridge between engineering/design and project execution, ensuring that the design package supports project’s cost, schedule, procurement, construction, and operational requirements. Additionally, they will provide leadership in issues management, and meeting customer commitments; develop and maintain organizational dynamics to foster excellence in engineering and superior communication between cross functional areas; develop budget and resource strategies to meet the mission requirements; and perform managerial functions including vacation and timecard approvals, technical document review and approvals, and other activities as directed by the Capital Assets Project Manager.

$134,030 to $237,594 per year. Exempt grade level(s) 36-38. The specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
