Job summary

Kiewit’s South Central District is seeking a Project Engineer to lead scheduling, cost control, and coordination across field and office teams on highway and heavy civil projects. You will ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

You will supervise a team of field and cost engineers, serving as a bridge between the construction manager and the broader project team, while supporting financial performance and planning.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in construction management, construction engineering, or related engineering field.
• 5+ years’ work experience in construction or engineering.
• 3+ years' experience managing engineers with exposure to cost control and scheduling management.
• Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong communication, ethics, safety focus, and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with input from field teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Oversee project financials including revenue tracking, cost control, and cash flow forecasting.
• Lead temporary engineering tasks such as scaffolding, shoring, and access platforms to support construction activities.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure permanent works meet specs and client expectations.
• Lead the project closeout, punch lists, and documentation handover.
• Manage contracts and subcontracts from negotiation to closeout.
