Job summary

Ellison-Mills Contracting is seeking a Project Engineer with 3+ years of water and wastewater construction experience to support field operations and project administration. You will read plans, track RFIs and submittals, and coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Applicants should have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and possess a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in water and wastewater construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination and administration.
• Experience preparing and tracking RFIs, submittals, change orders, project documentation, and correspondence.
• Ability to assist with project schedules, quantities, cost tracking, and progress reporting.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and construction safety practices.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Visit active construction sites to support field operations.
• Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel.
• Maintain project documentation and correspondence.
• Track progress, schedules, and cost against the plan.
• Communicate effectively with the team to resolve issues quickly.

• Experience supporting the construction of underground utilities, including waterlines, sewer, storm drain, force mains, and related infrastructure
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project documents
• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination and administration
• Experience preparing and tracking RFIs, submittals, change orders, project documentation, and correspondence
• Ability to assist with project schedules, quantities, cost tracking, and progress reporting
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential construction conflicts or issues
• Experience coordinating with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel
• Ability to visit active construction sites and support field operations as needed
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and construction safety practices
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment
• Valid driver's license required
