Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH) is seeking a Project Engineer for Water/Wastewater in Charlottesville, VA. Join our employee‑owned Water/Wastewater team delivering critical infrastructure projects for municipal and utility clients.

The ideal candidate is an engineer progressing toward PE licensure with 2+ years in water/wastewater, ABET‑accredited degree, and EIT certification. You will design, permit, and support construction while advancing your technical expertise within a collaborative

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited program
2+ years of experience in water, wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or a related engineering field
EIT certification with progress toward PE licensure
Experience supporting the planning, design, or construction of water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects
Ability to perform engineering calculations and prepare technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams
Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Virginia

Responsibilities

Support the delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects from planning to construction support
Develop engineering deliverables and technical reports for client projects
Participate in field investigations and collect data
Progress toward PE licensure and assume increasing project responsibilities
