Project Engineer - Tyndall AFB

Location: Panama City, FL
Pay Range: $120,000 – $135,000 per year (based on experience)
Responsibilities
- Observe and report on assigned projects to government personnel.
- Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Analyze design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements.
- Deliver recommendations regarding compliance to contract provisions and exercise engineering judgment to assist in the development of solutions between conflicting plan details or requirements.
- Make technical interpretations of drawings and specifications; provide engineering determinations on meeting the contract requirements.
- Review submittals, respond to contractor questions, RFIs, construction deficiencies, project issues, requests for equitable adjustment, and claims.
- Assist in preparing documents for change orders and claims.
- Review schedule items and pay applications to ensure balance with percentages for each corresponding work feature or component of work.
- Review contractor’s submittals including QA and Safety Plans.
- Provide field surveillance and deliver daily detailed reports.
- Review drawings and specifications.
- Assist in preparation of scope of work modifications and cost estimates.
- Provide safety oversight.
- Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- 10 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably Department of Defense.
- Facilities experience with administrative buildings, airfield facilities and apron, barracks, water and electrical systems, and roadways.
- Experience with Three-Phase QC/Inspection process.
- Knowledge of EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual (preferred).
- Experience with Resident Management System (RMS).
