Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Project Engineer for federal construction projects in Panama City, FL. This role requires at least 10 years of experience in overseeing complex multimillion dollar projects, along with facilities knowledge related to administrative buildings and utilities. You'll be responsible for contract administration, quality assurance, and providing technical interpretations. Project Engineer - Tyndall AFB

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. invites qualified candidates to apply for this role.

Location: Panama City, FL

Pay Range: $120,000 – $135,000 per year (based on experience)

Responsibilities
  • Observe and report on assigned projects to government personnel.
  • Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Analyze design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements.
  • Deliver recommendations regarding compliance to contract provisions and exercise engineering judgment to assist in the development of solutions between conflicting plan details or requirements.
  • Make technical interpretations of drawings and specifications; provide engineering determinations on meeting the contract requirements.
  • Review submittals, respond to contractor questions, RFIs, construction deficiencies, project issues, requests for equitable adjustment, and claims.
  • Assist in preparing documents for change orders and claims.
  • Review schedule items and pay applications to ensure balance with percentages for each corresponding work feature or component of work.
  • Review contractor’s submittals including QA and Safety Plans.
  • Provide field surveillance and deliver daily detailed reports.
  • Review drawings and specifications.
  • Assist in preparation of scope of work modifications and cost estimates.
  • Provide safety oversight.
  • Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • 10 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably Department of Defense.
  • Facilities experience with administrative buildings, airfield facilities and apron, barracks, water and electrical systems, and roadways.
  • Experience with Three-Phase QC/Inspection process.
  • Knowledge of EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual (preferred).
  • Experience with Resident Management System (RMS).
