Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space seeks a Senior Project Engineer to coordinate planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within assigned areas. You will plan the Engineering program, review designs for compliance, and coordinate with teams on technical developments, scheduling, and test problem resolution.

You will drive execution with IPTs, manage changes, and ensure customer requirements are implemented while aligning with configuration management policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Understanding of systems engineering and large-scale development programs.
  • Experience with earned value management and project scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects.

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer with experience in coordinating planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility.

In this role you will plan and formulate the Engineering program, review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. You will also evaluate and approve design changes, specification and drawing releases, and coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with program leaders and lead multiple IPTs to the best, unified solution that meets overall system performance requirements, cost, and schedule needs.
  • Establish change orders and prepare change authorization and documentation. Review change data and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support manufacturing, and others. Ensure customer requirements are implemented, approvals are captured, and compliant with configuration management policies.
  • Drive execution of assigned scope in support of the Systems Engineering Directorate with influence and awareness of the greater program development efforts.
Basic Qualifications
  • Understanding Systems Engineering and the development and verification of Requirements
  • Understanding Large Scale Development programs
  • Demonstrated, or equivalent knowledge of Systems Engineering or Project Management
  • Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and execution including: schedule development, resource management, budget management, scope management, progress tracking and reporting, and analysis of metrics
  • Prior CAM/EVMS experience
  • Proficiency with MS Project
  • Experience with OpenPlan
  • Ability to build reports utilizing Tableau
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
  • Experience developing and/or reviewing Basis Of Estimate (BOEs) in support of contract modifications or impact assessments
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00
