Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in the United States seeks a Project Engineer (IC3) to support MGSE projects for the Fleet Ballistic Missile program. The Project Engineer will be an IPT lead, overseeing schedule, cost, risks, and performance, and will generate BOEs, schedules and cost plans for LE2 modernization efforts.

The role requires leadership of cross-disciplinary teams, adherence to program lifecycle, and strong communication with senior leadership and customers. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to present information to senior leadership and customers.
  • Ability to lead teams of engineers across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive & plan-oriented with solid organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of Earned Value Management and program lifecycle.
  • Experience with Mechanical Ground Support Equipment or LE2 program.
  • Demonstrated experience driving complex issues to closure.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects.
  • Plan and formulate engineering program; review product design for compliance with standards and requirements.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, releases and drawings.
  • Coordinate activities related to technical developments, scheduling and resolving design/test problems.
  • Lead IPTs and drive modernization projects within LE2 scope.

This requisition is for a Project Engineer (IC3) to support Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) projects for the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program. The Project Engineer will be an IPT lead over several high complexity development projects, spanning across multiple contracts. As an IPT lead, the Project Engineer will be responsible for leading all aspects of the project, including schedule, cost, risks, opportunities, and general performance of the effort. The Project Engineer will be generating BOEs (Basis of Estimates / Proposals), Schedules, and Cost Plans for the scope they are responsible for. This specific role will be managing modernization projects for LE2.

Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.
  • Must be a U.S Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Candidates must be comfortable with presenting information to senior leadership and customers.
  • Ability to lead teams of engineers across multiple disciplines.
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven ability to be proactive & plan.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Strong understanding of Earned Value Management.
  • Strong understanding of program planning.
  • Strong understanding of program lifecycle
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment or the LE2 Program.
  • Demonstrated expereince in driving complex issues or problems to successful closure.
Desired Skills
  • Previous lead / CAM experience (IPT Lead, Project Management, Team lead, etc.).
  • Understanding of facility activation & development program milestones.
  • Engineering experience.
  • Experience managing subcontracted efforts.
  • Experience with proposals and / or fact finding.
  • Experience with A&E / Construction projects.
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
