Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a motivated Project Engineer with 4-8 years of civil/environmental engineering experience to support renewable energy projects in the Mid-Atlantic region or in our Richmond, VA office. You will assist with permitting, design, and construction phases across multiple projects and office locations.

The role requires CAD proficiency, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, often traveling to project sites and hearings.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental (or equivalent) Engineering is required.
• MS degree is preferred.
• 4 to 8 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform site civil, land development, stormwater, utility designs, and specifications to support solar or other renewable energy development projects including construction observation or administration.
• Prepare and submit permit applications in support of the project development, representing our municipal and private clients.
• Conduct presentations at public hearings to support the permit applications for land use projects.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team, manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate multiple disciplines, and collaborate with multiple staff members in a team environment.
