Job summary

Invenergy LLC is seeking a Sr Staff Engineer to lead electrical engineering and construction of cutting-edge renewable energy projects in the Chicago area. You will manage conceptual designs and coordinate with independent engineering firms to produce final detailed designs for wind and solar systems, including 1500V DC wiring, 34.5kV AC collection circuits, and interconnections to the grid.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant work experience (internships count).
• Experience with HV/MV electrical infrastructure (substations, distribution, lines).
• Knowledge of power systems through coursework or experience.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Some travel required (up to 25%).

Responsibilities

• Engineering Design Management: develop conceptual designs meeting owner and interconnection requirements.
• Review electrical drawings (DC solar, AC collection, substation, transmission).
• Define scope for electrical studies and review results for accuracy.
• Track design schedules and communicate critical dates to stakeholders.
• Organize as-built docs for project close-out.
