Overview
As a Project Engineer in Product Development and Manufacturing, you’ll turn product and process needs into practical engineering solutions. You’ll coordinate projects from design through production, partnering across engineering, operations, and quality to improve manufacturability, reliability, and factory performance. This role suits someone who enjoys hands‑on problem-solving and can connect design details with real‑world manufacturing requirements.
Duties
- Plan project schedules, track milestones, and coordinate resources to move product and process changes into production.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on product development, tooling, assembly, and manufacturing engineering projects.
- Use root cause analysis, engineering data analysis, and troubleshooting to resolve production issues and advance process improvement.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and industrial equipment, including automation, robotics, and vision inspection systems; support quality improvement and continuous improvement programs.
- Your impact: By resolving process issues and improving production methods, you help manufacturing teams build products more consistently and efficiently.
Skills
- Experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role; project management experience in manufacturing and factory, manufacturing facility, or assembly line experience are valuable.
- Knowledge of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, process engineering, manufacturing, electrical troubleshooting, assembly, tooling, welding, plastics injection molding, and mechanical systems.
- CAD (computer‑aided design) skills; familiarity with AutoCAD, HMI, PLC, schematics, and CAD software is preferred.
- Exposure to programmable logic controllers, robot programming, robotics, and CAM (computer‑aided manufacturing) programming, frequency converters, and industrial automation is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Six Sigma manufacturing, lean manufacturing or lean management, ISO 9001, and quality improvement programs is preferred; team leadership, project scheduling, and cross‑functional collaboration are important. Quantum engineering knowledge is a plus.
