Job summary

Flexfab, LLC in Hastings, MI seeks a Project Engineer to lead the engineering development of key projects, guide product launch teams, and provide technical support for existing products.

You will plan schedules, coordinate prototypes and tooling, analyze data against specifications, and apply APQP, DFMEA and PFMEA to drive robust designs. This role requires collaboration across Manufacturing, Marketing and Engineering.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, related technical degree, or equivalent proven work experience.
• Three to five years of experience in product or process development. Automotive industry experience preferred.
• Experience in multiple functional areas preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading projects from concept through successful launch or implementation.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in the relevant area of responsibility or technology.
• Understanding of APQP preferred.
• Basic CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and leads engineering projects through product development processes.
• Prepares and adheres to project schedules, raises issues to meet deadlines, and resolves them.
• Analyzes research data and customer drawings to determine feasibility of proposals.
• Uses CAD/engineering tools to perform design tasks.
• Coordinates prototypes, tooling, and testing activity to support product launches.
• Prepares design changes and documentation, including cost quotations and drawings.
