Job summary

States Manufacturing Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Engineering Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing activities for switchgear and engineered power system projects. You will focus on project execution, engineering schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination to keep projects progressing from kickoff through engineering release and manufacturing on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of engineering experience in industrial, manufacturing, power distribution, or related environments.
• Experience on project-based or engineered-to-order products.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
• Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.
• Ability to identify schedule risks and coordinate actions to keep projects moving.
• Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering Manager with engineering project scheduling, priorities, and resource coordination.
• Develop and maintain engineering schedules, deliverables, and project milestones.
• Coordinate engineering activities from project kickoff through design release and manufacturing.
• Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks, bottlenecks, and outstanding engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate work between Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, Operations, and Project Management.
• Follow up on open engineering actions and help drive issues to resolution.
• Coordinate engineering responses to manufacturing questions, production issues, and redlines.
• Track engineering changes, revisions, project requirements, and required deliverables.
• Support coordination of drawing and documentation revisions through PLM/PDM systems.
• Participate in project meetings, design reviews, production meetings, and other cross-functional activities.
• Assist with reviewing engineering documentation for completeness, accuracy, and project requirements.
• Help coordinate implementation of engineering changes and project-specific requirements.
