Job summary

States Manufacturing LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Engineering Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing engineering activities for switchgear and engineered power system projects. This role focuses on project execution, schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination to move projects from kickoff through design release to manufacturing on time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, power distribution, or related environments.
  • Experience working on project-based or engineered-to-order products.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • Ability to identify schedule risks and coordinate actions to keep projects moving.
  • Strong attention to detail and technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Engineering Manager with engineering project scheduling, priorities, and resource coordination.
  • Develop and maintain engineering schedules, deliverables, and project milestones.
  • Coordinate engineering activities from project kickoff through design release and manufacturing.
  • Monitor project progress and identify schedule risks, bottlenecks, and outstanding engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinate work between Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, Operations, and Project Management.
  • Follow up on open engineering actions and help drive issues to resolution.
  • Coordinate engineering responses to manufacturing questions, production issues, and redlines.
  • Track engineering changes, revisions, project requirements, and required deliverables.
  • Support coordination of drawing and documentation revisions through PLM/PDM systems.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, production meetings, and other cross-functional activities.
  • Assist with reviewing engineering documentation for completeness, accuracy, and project requirements.
  • Help coordinate implementation of engineering changes and project-specific requirements.
  • Communicate project status, schedule concerns, and engineering priorities to the Engineering Manager and project teams.
  • Escalate technical or resource issues that may affect project schedules or deliverables.
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering project execution, scheduling, and communication processes.
  • Help ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time and support successful project execution.

Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Summary:

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the Engineering Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing engineering activities for switchgear and engineered power system projects. This role is focused on project execution, engineering schedules, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination to help ensure projects progress from kickoff through engineering release and manufacturing on time.

The Project Engineer will work closely with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, Operations, and Project Management to coordinate engineering activities, identify schedule risks, resolve issues, and maintain project momentum. The role will also support engineering changes, manufacturing redlines, documentation, and other activities required to successfully execute projects. This is an individual contributor position reporting directly to the Engineering Manager with no direct supervisory responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience with E-House, modular power systems, equipment skids, or other engineered systems
  • Experience in an engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with engineering change and release processes
  • Experience with PLM/PDM systems
  • Experience coordinating manufacturing redlines and production-related engineering changes
  • Experience with project scheduling, project management, or engineering project coordination
  • Familiarity with applicable industry standards and codes
  • Experience working across Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting,Manufacturing, and Operations
Work Environment
  • Primarily office-based with regular interaction with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Project Management
  • Regular interaction with the manufacturing floor to support project execution and resolve issues
  • No travel required
  • Individual contributor position with no direct reports
