States Manufacturing LLC is seeking an Applications Engineer to provide advanced technical expertise to support customers, sales teams, and internal departments. The role handles complex applications, develops engineered solutions, and leads technical discussions with customers.

The position requires deep product knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor junior team members while ensuring high-quality proposals and support throughout the sales and project cycle.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years in applications engineering or related technical role
• Design or field service experience required
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
• Experience supporting engineered-to-order solutions
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; ERP/CRM/quoting systems exposure

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications and drawings to develop feasible product solutions.
• Serve as technical expert for internal teams and key customers.
• Create detailed technical proposals, configurations, and documentation.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and product management.
• Recommend alternative designs or custom solutions to meet needs.
• Support pre-sales activities, including briefings and Q&A sessions.
• Troubleshoot advanced application challenges for customers.
• Lead or contribute to continuous improvement of tools and processes.
• Prepare and review submittals, manuals, drawings, and technical docs.
• Stay current on industry trends, products, and technologies.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior Applications Engineers.
