Job summary

Generac is seeking a highly motivated electrical engineer to join our team as the technical face on projects. You will design low and medium voltage switchgear and control systems to meet client specifications and ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, and UL standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred.
5+ years’ experience in electrical power and controls.
Experience reading schematics and blueprints for power control systems.
Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools.
Familiarity with UL/NEC/UL 891/UL 1558 standards a plus.

Responsibilities

Interpret project specifications, drawings and customer communications.
Develop detailed electrical designs for low/medium voltage switchgear and controls.
Create BOMs, schematics, wiring diagrams, and one-line diagrams.
Coordinate with purchasing to specify and approve components.
Design power system control schemes including generator control and SCADA.
