Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a Project Engineer to support the design, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and protection systems. Located in Pullman, WA; Houston, TX; or Alpharetta, GA, the role involves field and office work with travel up to 75%.

You will assist customer projects, complete tasks to scope, schedule and budget while prioritizing quality and safety. Strong writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally a minimum of 75%.
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.
• Self-motivated with continuous desire to learn and find solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist teams that support customers with the design, installation, commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems, both on-site and from SEL offices.
• Complete assigned work using established procedures and working under immediate supervision.
• Complete assigned work within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.
• Focus Area = Commissioning: perform commissioning and site acceptance testing in the field, train and assist customers with installation, commissioning and operation of devices.
