Job summary

Kent Companies' National Mission Critical Division delivers turnkey concrete construction across the United States for Mission Critical, Advanced Manufacturing, and Data Center facilities. The Project Engineer assists the field project team, prepares budgets, tracks costs to completion, documents issues, and helps with postmortems for each project in scope.

The role requires travel up to 100%, a relevant degree, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel nationally up to 100%.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or construction science with 1–3 years in construction preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction disciplines and safety regulations.
• OSHA 30-hour certification preferred.
• Understanding of cost management, planning, and scheduling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Technical and mathematical skills for data collection/analysis.
• Ability to prepare professional reports for stakeholders.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Pass background check and drug screening.
• US work authorization without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Manage RFIs: document/report RFIs and review scope changes.
• Update submittal logs and coordinate submittals between vendor, PM, and client.
• Input costs from takeoff and inform PM of changes.
• Field calls from superintendents/subcontractors and follow up on PM requests.
• Hold site visits/inspections to verify work matches drawings.
• Oversee QC checks, testing (slump, air, temperature) and 7/28 day results.
• Coordinate project setup, gather subcontractor information, and set up spreadsheets.
• Track weekly labor using Exact Time and upload data to the project spreadsheet.
