Placements24 is seeking a skilled Project Engineer for a major mining equipment program based in Welkom, Free State, ZA. You will oversee engineering projects to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key duties include leading cross-functional teams, developing detailed project plans, managing risks, and coordinating procurement, installation, and commissioning of equipment. A strong background in mining operations and mechanical engineering is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mining Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of proven experience in project engineering within mining or heavy machinery.
• Experience managing complex engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Proficient in MS Project or Primavera.
• On-site work in Welkom, Free State, ZA.

Responsibilities

• Manage full lifecycle of mining equipment projects from start to close.
• Develop detailed project plans with scope, timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams for on-time delivery.
• Identify and mitigate risks with contingency plans.
• Oversee procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of equipment.
• Prepare status reports with KPIs for senior management.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments.
• Liaise with stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors for seamless delivery.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
