B&I Contractors, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager in managing commercial mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects. The role offers mentorship and growth as you progress toward a Project Manager position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or about to graduate).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel to project sites if required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager with construction efforts to meet design specifications, budget and schedule.
• Interface with client representatives, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Review and submit project documents (submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, subcontracts, manuals).
• Assist with change orders and extra work estimation.
• Support project meetings and documentation.
• Liaise between trades and other departments within the company.
• Attend to punch lists and field productivity assessments.
• Gain industry knowledge to provide technical support as required.
• Participate in weekly staff and project management meetings.
