Job summary

Saint-Gobain is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Project Engineer to plan, design and install equipment and processes that improve product quality, reliability and capacity. The role requires strong planning, scheduling, organizing, and cost-control skills with guidance from the Engineering Manager.

The incumbent will support plant operations on significant programs, provide technical direction, and ensure safety, documentation, and process improvements across teams in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering; PE is a plus.
• 2–10 years design/engineering in manufacturing.
• Project management experience including contractors & staff.
• Strong communication and teamwork across all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop or modify equipment and processes to improve quality and capacity.
• Plan project work through scheduling and team coordination.
• Troubleshoot operations, improve efficiency and safety.
• Coordinate with engineers and maintenance on mechanical projects.
• Maintain documentation of specifications, drawings, and procedures.
• Apply Six Sigma principles and cost estimates to projects.
