Job summary

Designed Conveyor Systems is seeking a Project Engineer to manage all engineering aspects of conveyor and material handling projects. You will lead and mentor engineers, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure on-time delivery of designs that meet customer specifications.

The role requires strong AutoCAD/Navisworks skills and a solid background in ASRS, AMRs, and high-speed conveyors. A collaborative, proactive approach is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related area.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Navisworks; working knowledge of Inventor or similar tools is a plus.
• Expertise in standard concepts, practices, and procedures within engineering, particularly in the material handling industry.
• Ability to apply varying degrees of creativity and latitude to solve problems.
• Able to evaluate and anticipate project tasks with minimal direction, delivery driven by timelines.
• Experience with ASRS, AMRs, Pallet Shuttle ASRS, and high-speed conveyor systems.
• Experience in leading, mentoring, or managing other team members.
• Effective communication across teams and functions, building alignment and keeping work moving forward.
• Strong work ethic, teamwork, and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of a project team to complete conveyor and material handling projects.
• Own and manage all engineering-related tasks on a project, including schedules and budgets and tracking change orders.
• Lead conversations with vendors and suppliers to review and evaluate system and equipment designs.
• Review customer specifications to ensure requirements are incorporated throughout the design process.
• Provide technical support throughout the engineering process.
• Use AutoCAD and/or other drafting tools to complete system reviews and coordinate with external vendors for approvals.
• Check drawings produced by others for accuracy.
• Validate data handshakes between multiple automation solutions for successful integration.
