Job summary

Raymond Storage Concepts is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to architect and deliver advanced automated material handling solutions. You will lead design across conveyors, sorters, AS/RS, robotics, and pallet handling, while collaborating with Sales, Engineering, and customers to define concepts and detailed specs.

You will develop drawings, write proposals, and provide cost estimates. Travel to customer facilities and site visits are expected to assess conditions and advance projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years in the material handling industry.
• 5+ years creating material handling system drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent.
• 15+ years with automated sortation technologies (shoe/ cross-belt/ tilt-tray).
• 5+ years with automated pallet‑handling equipment (conveyors, transfers, lifts).
• 5+ years developing complex technical proposals and cost estimates.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for conveyor, sortation, pallet handling, AS/RS, robotics systems.
• Evaluate requirements and select appropriate technologies for throughput and storage.
• Develop detailed mechanical drawings for proposals and projects.
• Create system concepts, equipment specs, scope docs and pricing.
• Translate engineering concepts into clear, customer-facing materials.
• Prepare operation descriptions and system documentation for customers.
• Support customer presentations on system concepts and specs.
• Generate BOMs and coordinate equipment ordering.
• Maintain supplier relationships and project delivery schedules.
• Lead technical reviews and mentor other engineers.
