Job summary

Kokosing is seeking an on-site Project Engineer to join the Project Team for industrial water/wastewater and facilities work in Northern Virginia, DC, and Baltimore area. Responsibilities include planning, developing, coordinating, and managing onsite construction engineering activities.

Ideal candidate has a Civil Eng/CM degree and 5+ years of heavy industrial experience, strong communication, and PE registration preferred; experience with Primavera P6 and cost control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• 5+ years of heavy industrial construction engineering experience.
• Experience coordinating with project teams and engineering staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage onsite construction engineering activities for industrial projects.
• Ensure compliance with company and contract requirements and support the project schedule (Primavera P6).
• Provide technical support for construction planning and design; resolve design conflicts.
• Develop and administer project engineering procedures (submittals, RFIs, expediting material deliveries).
• Represent company in meetings with A/E, client, and project management.
• Interface on-site departments to resolve problems and maintain schedule.
• Oversee pre-construction, design-build services, and business development.
• Work with Superintendent to control costs and budgets.
• Prepare monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections.
• Approve subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices.
• Coordinate, price, and assist in change orders and claims settlement.
• Respond to issues quickly and multi-task.
• Maintain project correspondence files and filing system.
• Maintain subcontractor insurance certificate compliance.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor direction.
