Goodfellow Bros Inc in Kihei, HI is seeking a Project Engineer Intern for summer 2027 on Maui. Under supervision, you will assist with construction-related duties including layout, form design, subcontract monitoring, change orders, plan checking, and documentation control.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager/Project Engineers/Estimators with construction duties and perform a variety of tasks on projects.
• Assist in tracking work hour utilization and productivity.
• Maintain up-to-date file/library of material suppliers, labor laws, and subcontractors by category.
• Coordinate material deliveries and subcontract work in accordance with schedules.
• Prepare data for monthly invoices, pay estimates, and job cost reports.

PositionSummary

AsanEngineeringIntern,youhavetheopportunitytoapplyyouracademicknowledgeandtraininginareal-worldsetting.UndersupervisionofaProjectEngineer,ProjectManagerorEstimator,youwillbeassistingwithconstruction-relateddutiesincludinglayout,formdesign,andsubcontractmonitoring.Youwillalsobeassistinginchangeorderpreparations,planchecking,documentcontrol,qualitycontrolandsafetymonitoring.ThisexperiencewillhelpyoutolearnwhataGBIprojectengineerdoesonadailybasis.

• Mayattendsubcontractorjobmeetingsandotherconstructionmeetings
• Preparecostbreakdown,reviewswithProjectEngineerandProjectManagerforconcurrenceandmakesadjustmentsasnecessary.
• Prepareperiodiccompletiondataforjobcostreportandmonitorprintoutstocorrectpostingandothererrors.
• Preparedataformonthlyinvoices,forcedaccountsheets,payestimates,monthlyincreases,back-charges,ifapplicable,andsubmitstoProjectEngineerand/orProjectManagerinatimelymanner.
• Assurethatdetailsandsubmittalsarereceived,submittedandprocessed.Supervisesubmittalofcontroldata.
• PreparespecialreportsasrequestedbyProjectEngineerand/orProjectManager.
• Reviewtimecardsdailyandcommunicateanydiscrepanciestothepayrollclerk.
• Answerthephonesandperformsotherclericalwork(suchasscreeningtelephonecalls,takingaccuratemessages,faxing,copyingandfiling).

CompensationandBenefits

• 12-weekpaidinternshipsstartingat$18to$25hourly.

RequiredEducation,Experience,andTechnicalKnowledge
