Goodfellow Bros Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer Intern for the Waikoloa, HI team on the island of Big Island for Summer 2027.

Under supervision, you will assist with layout, form design, change orders, plan checking, and document control, gaining real-world construction experience. Qualifications include pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering, travel may be required, and a valid driver’s license.

PositionSummary

AsanEngineeringIntern,youhavetheopportunitytoapplyyouracademicknowledgeandtraininginareal-worldsetting.UndersupervisionofaProjectEngineer,ProjectManagerorEstimator,youwillbeassistingwithconstruction-relateddutiesincludinglayout,formdesign,andsubcontractmonitoring.Youwillalsobeassistinginchangeorderpreparations,planchecking,documentcontrol,qualitycontrolandsafetymonitoring.ThisexperiencewillhelpyoutolearnwhataGBIprojectengineerdoesonadailybasis.

• Mayattendsubcontractorjobmeetingsandotherconstructionmeetings
• Preparecostbreakdown,reviewswithProjectEngineerandProjectManagerforconcurrenceandmakesadjustmentsasnecessary.
• Prepareperiodiccompletiondataforjobcostreportandmonitorprintoutstocorrectpostingandothererrors.
• Preparedataformonthlyinvoices,forcedaccountsheets,payestimates,monthlyincreases,back-charges,ifapplicable,andsubmitstoProjectEngineerand/orProjectManagerinatimelymanner.
• Assurethatdetailsandsubmittalsarereceived,submittedandprocessed.Supervisesubmittalofcontroldata.
• PreparespecialreportsasrequestedbyProjectEngineerand/orProjectManager.
• Reviewtimecardsdailyandcommunicateanydiscrepanciestothepayrollclerk.
• Answerthephonesandperformsotherclericalwork(suchasscreeningtelephonecalls,takingaccuratemessages,faxing,copyingandfiling).

CompensationandBenefits

• 12-weekpaidinternshipsstartingat$18to$25hourly.

RequiredEducation,Experience,andTechnicalKnowledge
