Job summary

Helix Electric in Atlanta, GA offers a Project Engineer Intern role supporting the Project Manager on diverse construction projects. You will bridge field and office, define objectives, plan, execute, and finalize tasks within schedule and budget while learning the ropes of the trades.

As part of our University Relations Team, you will develop relationships with PMs, subs, engineers, and vendors, assist with estimating in Accubid, monitor safety, procurement, BIM coordination, and maintain

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in CM, EE, CE, AE or a related field.
• Previous construction or internship experience preferred.
• Strong initiative and motivation.
• Basic math and data analysis skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good organizational and cross-team collaboration abilities.
• Willingness to learn and improve department processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with project managers, subcontractors, engineers, and vendors.
• Track materials with the superintendent and coordinate with vendors.
• Promote Helix safety culture on job sites.
• Assist with estimating using Accubid.
• Analyze subcontract agreements to understand scope and pricing.
• Assist in material and equipment procurement.
• Coordinate with BIM for planning and coordination.
• Produce and maintain detailed job logs (transmittals, submittals, RFIs).
• Monitor quality control throughout the project.
• Help manage labor schedules with superintendents and PMs.
• Support prefabricated assembly planning and on-time delivery.
• Walk the jobsites to learn and improve company performance.
