Job summary

Ryan Companies US Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer Intern to help the project team complete designated projects while learning construction processes and Ryan policies.

You will gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders, and develop field coordination and safety skills. A 40-hour week for at least three months is required; strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management or closely related field.
• Within 18 months of graduating at the time of application.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week for a minimum three-month term.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist project team with budgets, cost accounting, invoices and change orders.
• Support job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.
• Conduct inspections and closeout observations to maintain schedule.
• Coordinate design documentation with field conditions via reality capture.

As a Project Engineer Intern, you will assist the project team in the completion of designated projects while focusing on learning construction industry processes, procedures, and Ryan business policies.

• Gain a working understanding of budgets, cost accounting, invoices, contracts, and change orders.
• Develop a first-hand understanding of job-site coordination, scheduling, quality control and safety.
• Complete critical inspections and closeout observations to keep the project schedule moving.
• Coordinate design documentation with real-world field conditions through a world-class reality capture program.
• Work with high performing teams in a fast-paced environment to solve new challenges daily.

To be successful in this role

You must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/management or closely related field and within 18 months of graduating.

Be able to work 40 hours a week for at least a three-month term.

You will really stand out if you

• Have a general knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control methods.
• Have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Possess the ability to read and understand contracts, specifications and architectural and engineering drawings.
• Communicate clearly orally and in writing.

Compensation

The hourly base pay range is $20 - $25 per hour. The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or incentive program.
